The shields were done by taking photos of the original banners (material, in most cases) and tracing them in Photoshop. Some details were too complicated to trace, however, and in those cases I just used the photo directly.

It took me about a week to draw and color all of these portraits. The originals are a lot bigger.

This piece marks the end of a year-long dry spell for me, art wise.
